Usage

Ceremonial grade matcha is designed to be used in traditional Japanese tea ceremonies. It is best consumed on its own rather than added to lattes and other confections.

Matcha is traditionally prepared using a whisk, scoop, sifter, matcha bowl, and hot water.

  1. Scoop the matcha powder into a sifter (two scoops, or one teaspoon, of matcha powder per bowl or serving).
  2. Sift the powder into the bowl to prevent clumping, then add a small amount of hot water and whisk gently to make a smooth paste.
  3. Add up to 6 ounces of water and whisk vigorously back and forth (in an "M" motion) until frothy.
  4. Serve and enjoy.

Preparing matcha is largely a matter of personal taste, so feel free to play around with these ratios to figure out your preferred taste.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry, and dark place. Keep sealed to protect freshness.
